VIDEO CALLS WITH STEVE WINTER

In your introduction meeting, you will have the opportunity get to know Steve discuss your work, and together, you will establish the main goals for the next five sessions. He will go through your images with you and give your first assignment to be completed before the next meeting.

After your introduction meeting you will meet with Steve Winter six times for an hour of digital mentorship. During these meetings, full focus is on you as a photographer and the ways you wish to develop your photography, with plenty of time to ask questions. The sessions will use the Zoom app, which can be downloaded for free on your computer or phone. The app allows each of you to easily share your screens to view pictures if needed.

At the end of each meeting, Steve will give you an assignment – or a few –  that will help you  build on that session’s work. Steve may, for example, ask you to try out a new technique, photograph under different lighting conditions or in a different environment, edit photos from your portfolio – or continue work on a personal project. That work will then be discussed in your next meeting.

LEARN AT YOUR OWN PACE

This program will be tailor-made to each individual, and together, you and Steve can set the pace of your learning and the time you need for your assignments over a six-week to six-month period. Sessions can be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly or once a month.

As part of your application, you will fill out a questionnaire providing background on your work, your photographic goals and what you would like to gain from your time working with Steve. You should also select up to 20 images to share with Steve that you feel best represent your work – or send an edit from a current project.
 
In order for Steve to spend ample time with your work, you will send your images to him at least two days before your session. On that next video call, you will discuss the assignment, and each session – new assignments – will build upon the last. Your session will be taped so that you will have them for future reference.

Once you have signed up for your mentorship, you will receive an email with information on how you schedule your start-up meeting with Steve, how the video work and how to send your photos to Steve.
