During his career as one of the world’s foremost landscape photographers, Hans has photographed in some of the world’s most demanding places. Whether he has created his images on the ground or from a helicopter, he always succeeds in producing images that touch the viewer’s emotions and that many thinks resemble works of art more than one depiction of the place he has visited. His pictures have been shown in galleries all over the world and he has received several awards, including the prestigious Hasselblad Master Award
For the first time ever, Hans is now offering a photography mentorship that is uniquely tailored for you and created according to your own photographic goals.
Six times during the mentorship you and Hans will gather for a digital meeting. Hans will tailor these sessions specifically to help you take your photography to the next level with the help of his experience You will submit work beforehand that Hans will discuss in detail. At the end of each meeting, he will give you some type of assignment, which you will present at your next meeting. The tasks will help you work towards your overall goals.

SET YOUR GOALS
You decide what you want to learn and set your goals for the mentorship based on this together with Hans. Maybe you want to strengthen your own image style, immerse yourself in image composition or maybe work with an upcoming exhibition. With Hans’ vast experience you will develop yourself as a photographer no matter on what level you are.
VIDEO CALLS WITH HANS STRAND
In your introduction meeting, you will have the opportunity get to know Hans discuss your work, and together, you will establish the main goals for the next six sessions. He will go through your images with you and give your first assignment to be completed before the next meeting.
After your introduction meeting you will meet with Hans Strand six times for an hour of digital mentorship. During these meetings, full focus is on you as a photographer and the ways you wish to develop your photography, with plenty of time to ask questions. The sessions will use the Zoom app, which can be downloaded for free on your computer or phone. The app allows each of you to easily share your screens to view pictures if needed.
At the end of each meeting, Hans will give you an assignment – or a few – that will help you build on that session’s work.
LEARN AT YOUR OWN PACE
This program will be tailor-made to each individual, and together, you and Hans can set the pace of your learning and the time you need for your assignments over a six-week to six-month period. Sessions can be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly or once a month.

You should also select up to 20 images to share with Hans that you feel best represent your work – or send an edit from a current project.

On that next video call, you will discuss the assignment, and each session – new assignments – will build upon the last. Your session will be taped so that you will have them for future reference.
Once you have signed up for your mentorship, you will receive an email with information on how you schedule your start-up meeting with Hans, how the video work and how to send your photos to Hans.

HANS STRAND • Landscape Photographer
Hans Strand is Sweden’s most internationally famous and successful landscape photographer. Over the years he has won many prizes and earned many awards, such as Hasselblad Master Award and BBC Photographer of the Year Award. His characteristic photographs, showing razor sharp, peacefully well-composed landscape sceneries and more narrow concentrated cutouts, reveals his personal and elaborate ways of describing both the beauty and complexity of nature. He explains what photographing means to him with these words: ”I’m never as much alive as when I’m photographing.” Among other things Hans has published two books about Iceland: ”Iceland Above & Below” 2014 and the magnificent volume ”Island” 2018.
