ABISKO
Lonely Planet ranks Abisko as the best place in the world to see the northern lights. Thanks to its dry climate and location in the northern lights’ oval, Abisko has become world-famous. Figures from previous years show that the northern lights can be seen on more than 70% of the dark season’s nights. As the lights are a natural phenomenon there is no set guarantee for seeing them, however in the last three years most people who have been based in Abisko for a number of days have successfully photographed the northern lights.
