On this Amateur Photographer workshop the award-winning wildlife photographer Ben Hall will teach you the techniques of wildlife photography. Ben will give you tips and help you to improve your wildlife images and become a better photographer.

To become a good wildlife photographer demands a lot of training and guidance. When the tiger emerges from the bush, or a deer is jumping over a fence you have to be prepared. All camera settings should be ready so you just can follow the animal in the cameras viewfinder and press the trigger at the exact moment to get the image you always dreamed of.

On this workshop award-winning photographer Ben Hall helps you to improve your photo skill in wildlife photograph ensure that you gain the full benefit of his tuition and practical advice. In addition to answering any questions you may have during the field expedition Ben will also give instructions on various field and photographic techniques including lighting, exposure, composition and fieldcraft. Lots of personal attention is given, ensuring that you will improve your photo skills and become a better wildlife photographer.

    KNOWSLEY SAFARI PARK

    KNOWSLEY SAFARI PARK

    Knowsley Safari Park north of Prescot, off the M62, is a safari park with a worldwide reputation as a premier conservation and zoological facility. It boasted 94 species of mammals and 318 species of birds, which would make it the largest bird collection in Britain today, and the third largest mammal collection. The animals roaming 200 hectares (550 acres) of naturalistic enclosures like prairie and savannah. Among the 500 mammals at Knowsley Safari Park that can be seen are herds of immensely powerful rhinos and elephants, burly camels, the impressive buffalo, bison and wildebeest, majestic zebra and giraffes, various types of graceful deer, antelopes, and wallabies. The big cats, represented by both lions and tigers. The Park also include a pack of 12 African Hunting Dogs, and Red River Hogs.

    TOUR ITINERARY • APRIL 15-17, 2022

    DAY 1 – ARRIVAL, LECTURE & PHOTOGRAPHY
    You will arrive at our hotel after lunch where you will be greeted by Ben Hall and a host from Zoom Photo Tours. The workshop with an inspiring lecture by Ben about wildlife photography and what you can expect during the photo sessions. He will give you tips and advice on photo techniques including lighting, exposure and histograms, composition and fieldcraft. We will then head out for the first photo session at Knowsley Safari Park. Here you will have the opportunity to photograph many of the park’s wild animals. During all photo sessions Ben will be available for individual questions and at the same time help you to improve your photo skills. We will conclude our day with a welcome dinner at the hotel. (D)

    DAY 2 – PHOTOGRAPHY, EDITING AND FEEDBACK
    During the day we will be focusing on wildlife photography combined with photo editing look at pictures and get feedback from Ben on your photos. We will start the morning with image processing. During this session Ben will show you, among other things, how he works in Lightroom and what tools he uses, he will also look at the images you took in the park and give tips and advice on what to think about when it’s time for afternoon photography. After lunch we will return to the park for our second photo session. Just like in before, Ben is there for questions and guidance. When the sun has gone down, we return to the lodge for dinner followed by photo review with constructive image reviews of your photos by Ben. (B, L, D)

    DAY 3 – EDITING
    Our last morning, we will work with photo editing. Ben will instruct you in how to edit the images. The workshop will end around 12.00 when Ben will appoint the best image of the workshop, which will be presented in Amateur Photographer magazine. (B)
