ANGEL FUX
Award winning AstrophotographerANGEL FUX • Landscape & Astrophotographer
Angel Fux was born in 1998 in Paris and shortly thereafter moved to Switzerland, where she grew up. She is a Swedish, French, and Swiss landscape and astro photographer, as well as a composite artist focusing on capturing night lights in the mountains.
At the age of 25 and after 15 years in the field of photography, her desire to capture rocky landscapes at night became her main focus, with extensive knowledge of the Swiss Alps, the Italian Dolomites, the Peruvian Andes, the Norwegian Polar Circle, and the French Pyrenees. To create her images, Angel fully immerses herself in remote mountain locations by spending nights in the wilderness.
A lot of effort goes into creating a final image. Angel spends weeks, sometimes months, planning an image at a specific location in advance. She then goes there, often after several hours of hiking, and stays up all night to photograph the elements she needs, often in freezing conditions. Although she uses compositing techniques, Angel advocates for creative freedom and transparency in her process, with photography being the essence of her work. She captures her images within the same area and in the shortest possible timeframe. Her creations share the experience of distant places and encourage questioning a reality that she makes her own.
Angel’s work has been awarded several times for gracefully combining a high level of technical skill with artistry. She has given several public talks in Europe, workshops, served as a jury member in photo competitions, and been featured in magazine articles. Her work has been exhibited at the Nikon Plaza in Paris, and she has collaborated on several projects with brands such as Nikon.
